Fedex St. Jude Classic - Final Summary
Updated 9 months ago

Lucas Glover Captures FedEx St Jude Championship After Playoff Victory Over Patrick Cantlay.

The 43-year-old becomes the first person since Vijay Singh to win consecutive PGA Tour events in their forties after victory last week at the Wyndham Championship.

Cantlay had mounted a charge on the final day to reel in overnight leader Glover, and they took it to a playoff, but after Cantlay put his drive into the water, so Glover just had to make a par to take home a victory. It certainly wasn’t an easy win and there were some struggles, but the fact that he held off Cantlay, McIlroy & Fleetwood was tremendous.

Consecutive wins for the 43-year-old catapults Glover up to fourth in the FedEx Cup rankings and into the conversation for a Ryder Cup captain's pick. Why not? In form & he is absolutely striping his irons at the moment.

Ian Roulston was our winner in the global pool by 1 shot. His entry of Glover, Fleetwood, McIlroy and Davis was good enough. He wins the Cleveland Golf SA hamper for his efforts.

Callum Staines & Legshaan Ariefdien tied for 2nd and will each take home a Breazies Voucher to the value of R1500. And Callum was also the winner of the St Francis Links private pool which gets him & three friends a free round.

Well done to all our winners this week and over the course of the year. We thank you & our sponsors for the support.

We won’t be running any more tournaments for the FedExCup as the field sizes get smaller & mean the chances for ties are much higher sadly. But we will be watching with a keen eye and of course are counting down to the Ryder Cup which will of course be a great one to get behind.

If there are any more tournaments to run before the end of the year, we will let you know.

Till then, head down, follow through.
